A few days ago, we received a long and deeply moving message in the backend for our Goiteia3198 Cataract Sunglasses.

A user named Country/city lady wrote:

“These glasses changed my life! I’ve had Lasix and cataract surgery, so my eyes are super sensitive. I used to go out in the sun and just freeze because I couldn’t see. With so many goggles and protective options on the market, why did we go through so much trouble to create our Goiteia cataract sunglasses?

During the initial R&D phase, our product manager spent time observing in an eye clinic. He noticed that the first thing many patients did after stepping out wasn’t smiling; instead, they tightly shut their eyes or shielded their foreheads with their hands.

After in-depth research, we found that people in the post-cataract surgery phase have actually been “settling” for less. We realized that many of the post eye surgery sunglasses on the market share a few fatal flaws:

We made a bold decision: Go directly for CAT 4 super dark sunglasses with polarized lenses, which are 50% darker than standard shades!

But this brought a new challenge: the darker the lens, the more obvious the internal reflection. To solve this stubborn detail, we applied a special anti-reflective treatment to the lenses, reducing the inner reflection rate to an astonishing 1.1%.

This means that light is not only effectively blocked from the front, but there is also almost zero harsh reflection bouncing back into your eyes from the inside, keeping your vision perfectly pure. Paired with UV400 protection, they block 100% of UVA and UVB rays.

While they are too dark for driving, for patients recovering from eye surgeries like cataracts, they offer maximum glare control and light reduction, acting as the perfect sunglasses for light sensitivity and creating an all-weather safe haven for your eyes.

This “soft yet strong” material allowed us to confidently pursue extreme weight reduction. Ultimately, we locked the finished weight at exactly 1.09 ounces (approx. 30.9 grams).

Behind this number is true “all-day” freedom: even if you wear them all day, or layer them as polarized fit over sunglasses on top of your prescription glasses, your nose and ears will no longer suffer from those lingering red marks or pressure. You are left with only the lightness and comfort that belongs to TR90.
